Weʼve raised £578 to help families in Vietnam affected by the recent tragedy in the UK.

Funded on Saturday, 30th November 2019

    Story

Thank you for visiting this page and hopefully donating to this cause.

I set up this page to hopefully be able to offer some assistance to the families affected by last week's tragedy in the UK.

I don't know any of the people involved in this incident directly but being from England and now being able to call my home Vietnam, I wanted to help and thought the quickest and most direct way of doing that would be to set up a Just Giving page.

After activating the page it will be open for a further 30 days, after that 100% of the money raised will be offered to those affected. If anyone here in Vietnam can help with that at a later date, then any information would be very welcome.

There have been a few concerns about the legitimacy of this page which I can understand. You can message me directly if you want to find out more about myself or if you have questions.

There have been a couple of concerns expressed on this page below which I have left up. I have messaged them both directly as well as replying on this page to offer some reassurances. Unfortunately after they were posted yesterday the donations stopped.

In the past I have raised a lot of money for various charities by running marathons as well as other types of events. Taking 20 minutes of my time to set up this page seemed like a very obvious and hopefully helpful thing to do.

Please donate if you can, if not forward it on to someone else or share on your social media.

    Thank you :)

This account has now closed today. Thank you so much to everybody that made donations. Sasha who is running the other fundraising page is with the families this weekend. She will pass on your donations directly to the families and they will all be divided equally. The donations collected by these fundraising pages is now well over $40,000 and continuing to rise. Thank you all very much. :)

Thank you so much to everybody that has already supported this effort. I have received donations and messages of support from people all over the globe. The story continues to be reported on around the world and now major news outlets are starting to add links to these fundraising sites which has seen the total collected so far rise significantly. This week both the Guardian and the BBC have added links to these pages on their news sites. The collective total is now in the tens of thousands which is a fantastic achievement. Thank you.

Here is a direct link to Sasha's own fundraising page which gives further details of her own motivations and how she intends to deliver the funds to the families once she has finished fundraising. You can donate to either page. Thinking how wealthy the UK is and the ways public and personal money is spent It seems mean spirited for the state not to help these poor people. Donating personally is the least I can do.

A little help from Italy. I really hope the target is reached and the contribution may alleviate the economical burdens of already emotionally and economically distressed families
