    Story

Pathways has been providing domestic abuse services in Barnsley and the surrounding areas since 1995. This year Pathways lost its funding for many of its valuable services including counselling. Waiting lists for counselling in Barnsley on the NHS are currently about 2 years. In order to continue to offer counselling & groupwork, such as the Women’s Freedom Program, You & Me Mum and Adult and Teen Self Esteem they desperately need to raise funds.

As well as the amazing service offered to the over 400 men and women every year who accessed in excess of 4000 counselling hours that would not otherwise have been available to them, Pathways has trained more than 200 counsellors and therapists.

The training and experience gained at Pathways has been invaluable to many students including myself who found this an immensely challenging and rewarding experience. This is why some of us decided to do this charity walk to raise funds and keep this vital service going for clients and counsellors alike.

As many of us traveled from Sheffield to volunteer our time to this service we are going to make the same journey again, this time on foot, Walking almost 15 miles from Sheffield city center to the Pathways offices in Barnsley. Please take a minute to donate to this worthwhile cause. It would really mean a lot to us.
