Story
About 400 people a year die from accidental drowning; 60% of these drowning’s tragically happen in inland water areas. Unfortunately Rotherham has seen children lose their lives in our waterways.
Working with South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue and Rebecca Ramsay, who set up the campaign Doing It For Dylan, following the tragic death of her 13-year-old son, we would like to install life saving throw-lines in Rotherham. We have identified a dozen sites that would benefit from these, and would like to raise fund to install them at £600 a line.
