Hi All

We are involved in a project at work to create a new Day Operations Centre for Buckinghamshire County Council. After visiting the 4 existing facilities that are going to be amalgamated into our new building I was struck by how depressing and poorly designed most of these buildings were - something we are aiming to change through the design of the new building.

Our new building will provide respite facilities for families who have relatives with a range of disabilities. The new facility will cater for those with sever Autism, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties to people who are just old aged, many of whom are also suffering from some form of physical disability.

We have an opportunity to create a new facility that can change peoples lives for the better and I would like to raise enough money to pay for some artwork or equipment for the new facility - something the funding never usually fully covers.

As part of the new Centre part we will be providing a number of bedrooms for those suffering from Autism and PMLD and one of my thoughts is to raise money to provide some artwork within the rooms to personalise the rooms and make them feel more like a hotel room than a clinical hospital style bedroom. This personalisation might come in form of theming rooms - so that those staying for a night know they are going into the 'forest' room for instance rather than bedroom 6!

If we can do more we will, as we would like to also improve the daily routine for those working in these environments, who are very often dealing with some of our communities most vulnerable and challenging characters.

Anyway hope you can help me raise a bit of money to help improve these peoples lives. I've managed to persuade another 4 people from work to get involved and we will all be doing a monster race on April 1st to raise some money - so some sponsorship for this event would be appreciated if you can.
