Story
My name is Pauline - and It's my fiftieth birthday on 21st July - The only thing I want personally is an external hard drive to store all the photos from the four years of We Shall Overcome - the gigs, the people and the events and The Station family, and my dogs. Other than that I don't need anything for myself. My brother Andrew is helping me with this page to raise money to carry on the work I do every day to help the homeless with We Shall Overcome - we are NOT a registered charity, we are a community group, so we don't have "expenses" to take out - what we raise goes to help people who need it.
I'm making my birthday party a big We Shall Overcome all dayer - with some of my favourite musicians and bands supporting us. I am hoping that for my birthday, we can house some of our homeless friends, feed others and start the kitty for a respite trip for some of the long stay residents in supported accommodation at Greystones Homeless Project here in Ashton.
I don't need "stuff", I don't eat chocolate, I have hay fever so flowers make me sneeze - but what I do need is to keep helping the people who rely on We Shall Overcome and who desperately need our help.

6 years agoToday is my birthday - and we have the news that thanks to all of you, we have new homes available for another five homeless people all waiting for their chance at a new start - the best gift I could have wished for...thank you all so very much. Any money left over from today is going towards another home we are hoping will come soon for another of my lads and will also help to keep the packed lunches and food parcels going out every day and every week, so this page is still open for another couple of days. THANK YOU ALL - We SHALL Overcome x

6 years agoThank you all so much - we're onto paying for the 40 packed lunches a day and the weekly food parcels now if we raise any extra - but you have made my birthday so very special because this means we can help so many people - love you all always - WE SHALL OVERCOME!!! Pxxx

6 years agoWow - thank you so much to everyone who helped us raise that original total - we're extending it a bit further so we can help another gentleman - he is street homeless but is struggling even more than most as he has a very ill son and we want to house him so that he can spend more time with his lad while he still can. That original £500 has provided 2 flats so far and the deposit for the coach for the respite trip - if we can make it a third one, that would be incredible.
