Story
The Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank is a small registered charity, entirely run by volunteers, who receive donations of non-perishable foods from the community and small businesses, to give free of charge to organisations working with vulnerable people in need of food.
Due to the massive increase in its work (it now distributes more than 1,000 food bags each month compared with just 28 a month when it was set up in 2004), the Food Bank urgently needs to raise more money.
On 5th September, staff and parents from the West Bradford Children's Centre Cluster will be walking up to 7 miles between our children’s centres, stopping at each of them – Thornton, Allerton, Crossley Hall, Lidget Green, Farnham Road, Princeville and St Edmund’s, to raise money for the Food Bank.
Bradford Council is making changes to the way that it provides Prevention and Early Help services across the district. From the 1st October 2018 children's centres will be managed by the Council as part of the Prevention and Early Help Service. We have used the Foodbank to help many families through periods of crisis, and this is our chance to say thank you.
Please support us if you can.
