Weʼve raised £225 to obtain an electric wheelchair that will enable me to get out and about.

    Story

Looking to help fund the purchase of an electric wheelchair.

I live in one of the most beautiful places in the world yet am unable to make the most of the amazing Devon countryside. Although the council has managed to provide so many cycle and multi purpose walk ways and routes I am unable to make use of them due to not having a suitable wheelchair. Unfortunately my medical conditions mean that I am in constant pain and am unable to do the majority of things that people take for granted due to physical limitations. However the correct chair would enable me to get out and about and enjoy life outside the house again. Being able to accompany my daughter on bike rides or take my dog out for the day would make the world of difference for me.

In order to purchase a chair suitable I will need to raise an extra £1750 to top up my NHS voucher and savings.

Sorted out the seating system today :-) has to order in new seat cushions, thought showerproof was the best option living in Devon. In a fortnight I should be able to be out and about in comfort and at some speed - the chair i found is an 8mph version rather than the standard 4mph

I'm a full time wheelchair user living in Devon. I have a wonderful teenage daughter who gives up much of her time to help me - including pushing me around in my manual chair.
