In February 2017 my sister, Nadine Jordaan, was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Her oncologist discovered the cancer had spread to the regional lymph nodes and he quickly realised how aggressive her cancer is.

On Tuesday February 28th 2017, Nadine will undergo a full mastectomy in surgery followed by 6 months of chemotherapy.

Nadine is a British Citizen living in Newcastle, South Africa. As she is not covered by the very expensive Medical Aid available in the country she faces the very real problem of of how to pay for soaring medical costs while recovering from surgery and undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

Nadine raised her two sons as a single mum while working as a paralegal to make ends meet. Horses are and have been her lifelong passion and she possesses an uncanny connection with the big beasts. She has even shown her hand as a potentially talented amateur breeder with two beautiful foals in the last year.

She has always dealt with the challenges life has placed in her path with grace, humour and tenacity. She may only be 5' tall but she stares life full in the face and stands for what she believes in.

As arduous as her task now is we have no doubt Nadine will fight every step of the way.
