The Will Adams Centre is classified as a Pupil Referral Unit. We cater for students in KS4 that have been permanently excluded from one or more mainstream schools. Our students often find it difficult to engage in education, and other aspects of community life.

We have ten Year 11 students who are undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh Award and as part of their Award they are organising a 12 week fundraising project, to raise money for One Big Family Charity. One Big Family is a small, dedicated charity, supporting homeless and vulnerably-housed people in Kent, London and Yorkshire. They provide food, drink, clothing, toiletries and other vital items to those in need via regular outreach work and soup kitchens, They Provide Food parcels for the local community, starter kits and essential packs for newly housed people who may need them.

Our students are designing their own fundraising programme, where they will plan and undertake a variety of acitivites such as Pyjama Day at school, sponsored walks, cake sales etc. The students will also be voluneering at the shelter in March, helping decorate the bulding, interacting with the homless and prodivding services such as doing people's hair and painting nails. As you can imagine this is out of some of our student's comfort zones, and this will be a huge achievement for them all.
