Iʼve raised £300 to UKC Step Up for Girl Up! We're walking the distance that girls have to walk to school (14 miles), so that one day, they don't have to.
- Funded on Monday, 17th April 2017

Story
Many girls in developing countries drop out of school simply because they fear the journey. Traveling by foot, girls often have to trek long distances to get to school, putting them at risk of violence. With a bike, a girl can travel to school safely so she can get the education she needs. In 2014, Girl Up helped launch SchoolCycle, an initiative to provide bicycles to girls to help them access education and stay in school. Lets work together so SchoolCycle can continue buying girls bikes!
For girls in developing countries, going to school can be more than just an opportunity to be educated – it can mean avoiding long work hours, staying healthy and safe, and the possibility of getting a job that otherwise would not be possible.
