Almost exactly three years ago, on April 1st 2016, our friend Will Welch had a disastrous fall in a jungle town in Peru. He was given days to live. Though profoundly disabled, and to use a ghastly, much abused term, 'brain-dead', he is still with us physically, and being cared for by an extraordinary team at The Royal Hospital for Neuro Disability, in Putney. The Royal is a charity. They depend upon donations. I want to raise at least £500 to chip in for his on-going care. Why via the Great East Anglia Run ? Because my mate Bob Paterson said he was doing it for a great cause, and would I care to join him. Like a fool, I said 'oh go on then'. Just bung us a tenner, it's for the best of causes, and the survival of an amazing institution that is caring for someone special to lot of us.
