Story
On July 8th, 2018, I will be attempting to complete the 140Km route of the Wales Velothon. This is a UCI sanctioned route which starts and finishes in Cardiff city centre and includes the graded climbs 'Caerphily Mountain' and 'The Tumble'.
I will be raising money for the Arch-Way Project, a local charity based on Arden Road, Halifax.
The Arch-Way Project is a charity set up for the purpose of increasing the health and well-being of people in local communities, especially those who have mental health issues. This includes those on the autistic spectrum, disaffected young people, adults with profound mental health issues and the elderly who are at risk from, or are living with dementia.
The charity use music, art and drama as vehicles to engage with these vulnerable people, teach new skills, build confidence and self-esteem, and help people manage their mental health more effectively. The main focus is on empowering people who feel disaffected or live on the fringes of society. Many of the Archway-Projects service users feel marginalised and they work with them building confidence in order that they may feel more able to re-connect with society.
Please give whatever you can to help this charity continue their work.
