Story
When the bell tolled on November 11, 1918, some 17 million people had died. But every single one of that number was a person who had dreams and hopes and lives as rich as our own today - Xavier Weiss on Glasgow Live
In January of 2018, a group of students at the University of Glasgow setup a cultural heritage project to preserve the voices of Great War poets.
Our aim was simple, to take the Words of poets from World War One and use the power of film-making and oration to bring them to life again. Only this time, we would so amid modern scenes.
Since then, the passion and energy that we have poured into this has caught hold. We have recruited film-makers and actors from across Glasgow, been featured on Glasgow Live and obtained 1000 pounds of funding from the University's Chaplaincy - all in pursuit of the desire to share and preserve these voices.
It is now two weeks until Filming Week (July 1st to July 8th) and our selection of 10 poems has manifested into detailed filming plans, storyboards and soon - we hope - 10 impactful videos.
However we are faced with one hard reality, in spite of our efforts in contacting over 400 companies, the 1000 pounds we now posses is a very tight budget to function on. With your support, we hope to make it possible to film these videos at a higher quality than we would otherwise be able. This includes hiring better equipment and obtaining more suitable props.

For me a long-held passion for history, poetry and film-making suddenly fused together into a singular idea - what if we recited and recorded World War One poetry amid modern scenes? Now as Project Manager I am enchanted by this dream.
