Story
One of the problems veterans face is isolation. It leads to depression and a sense of worthlessness, leading to thoughts, attempts and finally the committing of suicide.
The working retreat first of all takes people from isolation, gives them a sense of giving back, self worth, and grounding. Once grounded the group can then engage in meditation with a view to settling the mind; once this achieved then self-compassion and forgiveness can be tackled.
Once the meditation and mindfulness is taught the participants can return home and continue with their practise and over time begin to adapt and progress in life using their new found skills of mind training.
There is no religion involved in the mind training unless the individual wishes it. Buddhist psychology is solely about taking control of ones own mind.

I support many initiatives. I wish it could be more. My very best wishes for a successful outcome to enable all to have "healthy mental health"
