    Story

    HELP FUND THE TOTTON LIGHTS

Every year the Totton and Eling Xmas lights committee put on an excellent display for people in the town. Volunteers, led by Councillor Neville Penman, give up many hours of their own time in order to maintain and install the decorations all over the town centre and take them all down again once Christmas is over. The team also help RBL put up the "Silent Soldiers" and banners that go up for remembrance day.

However, none of this is cheap. Not only do the lights themselves cost money, there are loads of other things that need to be paid for to ensure the display goes ahead. They have to repair and maintain the decorations and buy new ones. They have just purchased a new, artificial tree which will look great and is good for the environment but has cost a lot of money.

This is where we, the people of Totton can help. Money is obviously very tight for us all but if you can afford to make a donation, however small, the committee will be very, very grateful. If you can't then you can still help by sharing this page on social media. Every share means more people will see this appeal and we'll raise an even bigger amount.

You can find out more about what they do on their Facebook page: Totton & Eling Lights Facebook Page

All money raised (after Just Giving remove their fee) will go directly to Totton & Eling Xmas lights.

    Many thanks,

Dave Hills (Town Councillor, Totton North)

Wow! This is simply amazing!! The people of Totton, YOU are amazing! Please keep sharing and maybe we can get to £1,000! As you may know it has been a couple of bad years for the Christmas Lights Committee; last year an expensive motif was stolen and this year someone saw fit to steal some of the cabling. Your incredible support has brought home how brilliant the people of Totton are, and how we are all pulling together to make Totton a brighter, happier place. Thank you :)

Please accept this donation of £1,000 to the Xmas Light Fund from Totton Isolation Group, out of something so tragic and hard as Covid 19 we wanted to bring joy to the community for future years X
