Story
Four Years ago my auntie established the Alhuda Baikhat school in the remote village of Jaranwala. The school provides education for over 300 children between ages 5 and 11 who would otherwise not be able to attend school.
As someone who has had the fortune and pleasure of studying two degrees, I am truly passionate about education and the opportunities it provides you. Being part of a very big family I couldn't imagine if one of my younger cousins was robbed of the chance of learning and receiving the qualifications required in so many work places. The birth of my little nephew last year only further fuelled my desire to help children in times of need.
When I visited the school in December 2016 the first thing I noticed was just how happy the children are and how much they love going to school! For them it really is the best part of their day and they work so incredibly hard to fulfil their aspirations of being doctors and lawyers. It's not long until you realise just how ungrateful so many are for the education we receive when so many parents in Pakistan would sacrifice everything to give their children the same opportunities.
At the moment the children have uniforms and books (although not enough). The current premises is rented and has become congested with a growing number of students. The administration has decided that instead of paying rent for such a small premises it would be better to purchase a building that meets their needs. They are in desperate need of funds to make this a reality and thats where we can help! This is a completely non profit organisation so any extra money raised will be invested into the students.
There is so much more that needs doing, so PLEASE let's raise as much as possible and really make a difference to these children's lives.
I'm going to Pakistan on 20/02 and will share my story on snapchat to give you as much insight as possible to understand these children's reality.
Thank you,
Yasmin Karimi x

In the UK every child is fortunate enough to receive an education however in Pakistan many are not so lucky. School fees present a huge burden on parents and sadly there are millions of children who do not receive the blessing of an education. AND I WANT TO HELP
