Story
Zimbabwe is a nation ravaged by poverty and disease like many other parts of the the world. This situation has left many children orphans surrounded by family members who are equally struggling to look after their own children.
In these situations life is reduced to survival on a daily basis and the future is forsaken. Education becomes a luxury because the money is not there. Without an education the cycle of poverty is perpetuated.
We believe in education as a driver of social mobility and to that end we are raising funds to give these orphan children a chance in life.
It costs $100 a year to send a child to school, to give them an opportunity to become a doctor or engineer to change the story of the rest of their life.
Who do we help?
The children we help are recommended to us by school heads and we have a team that will verify their circumstances i.e.
- They are genuinely orphans ( Both parents or main provider parent missing)
- Their guardians are not in a position to help
- They have a good attendance record at school
How we help
We do not give any money to the families but we pay fees direct to the schools via direct bank transfers and insist on receipts to be issued to ensure accountability from both our end and the schools end.
Current Situation
Currently, we have 15 children that we are paying for but we have an ever increasing list of requests and we need to double our capacity. Turning down such pleas for help is difficult that is why we need you to help us.
We need your help!
