DIFC London to Brighton Cycle 2017 · 17 September 2017 ·

Amnesty International UK is movement of ordinary people standing up for humanity and human rights. Some of our campaigns includes refugees, climate change, children's rights, women's rights, and conflict-affected countries. When we unite even the smallest acts of humanity make a difference.

Story

The current social climate and rise of right-wing hate speech has got me feeling pretty low. The anti-immigrant hate fuel narrative that dominates the current political debate, and the rise in hate crimes and general meanness makes me feel hopeless and so sad. I believe is it right to speak out against those who inject hatred and intolerance into politics and although I don't feel bold enough to express my disdain through protest or voice - I can through freedom of expression. Luckily there are organisations like Amnesty that fight for the rights of those who have no voice. Whether it's helping to save the lives of those fleeing from war, or speaking out for LGBT rights, I stand with that, and say NO to intolerance and NO to meanness.

So, I am trying to help Amnesty by cycling 54 miles from London to Brighton on the 17th of September. Please help support their noble cause by donating a small amount in sponsorship to help make a massive difference.
