Coast to Coast cycle challenge · 28 September 2022 to 3 October 2022 ·

A team of intrepid cyclists are riding 300 miles across France over four days to raise funds for The Talent Foundry to support young people from disadvantaged communities find what they are amazing at, and preparing them for the world of work.

Story

Thank you for supporting my challenge in aid of The Talent Foundry. I am supporting this incredible charity because they are increasing social mobility by helping young people from disadvantaged backgrounds discover what they are amazing at, develop valuable new employment skills and take that first step into the world of work. They do this because in the UK, parental income remains the single strongest indicator of educational attainment.

I was the first person in my family to go to university and the opportunities available to me growing up meant I developed the confidence to say 'yes' and push myself outside of my comfort zone.

Life begins outside of your comfort zone is a mantra I've lived by, because of my early life experiences (although sometimes it gets harder to achieve). For some young people they never have the opportunity to find out what lies beyond, let alone practice the skills to build resilience or their confidence to find out.

This is where The Talent Foundry comes in. Your support will be helping them to level the playing field of opportunity so every child can achieve their full potential, regardless of their socio-economic background. I believe that everyone has something they are amazing at, they just need to discover what it is and your donation will help them do that.

We all know that that positive experiences during childhood can set you up for a lifetime. This is your chance to make sure even more young people can become the next generation of role models.
