Story

PAGE NOW CLOSED A HUGE BIG THANKYOU TO EVERY SINGLE PERSON FOR THEIR DONATIONS, KINDNESS AND SUPPORT.

on Sunday Thomas along with Mark Young completed this adventure by finishing the Great Scottish Run in Glasgow...donations still accepted for a while yet though.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We the Flying Fifers, Thomas Bremner and Sandy Cunningham are embarking on a fundrasing venture for the PoppyScotland Charity.

The challenge we have set is to complete the Edinburgh Half Marathon in 2012 & 2013 and the Great Scottish Run in Glasgow in 2012 & 2013, BUT...

our main challenge was to cycle from Leven in Fife to the Menin Gate in Belgium from 29th June - 4th July.

On 26th May we completed our 3rd half marathon, again with fantastic support at the finish area from Alice at PoppyScotland.

WELL WE HAVE COMPLETED THE CYCLE AND OUTSIDE MARRIAGE AND BIRTH OF CHILDREN IT IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST THING THAT HAS HAPPENED IN OUR LIVES. IT WAS TRULY AMAZING, EMOTIONAL, AS WELL AS PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY DRAINING. THE SUPPORT WE RECEIVED WHILST ON THE CYCLE SEEMED TO CAPTURE  THE WHOLE AREAS' IMAGINATION AND ALL THE MESSAGES WE RECEIVED SERVED AS A GREAT BOOST AND INSPIRATION....SO THANK YOU FOR THAT.

We have had an excellent amount of support from PoppyScotland, especially the wonderful Leigh & Alice who organised a slot for us on Kingdom FM  and BFBS to broadcast our story as well as a photoshoot and press release which walso got our story out there and helped boost our fundraising. Also Gary from the charity has been a fantastic support to us.

Thomas also celebrated his 40th birthday and held a party on 27th April where all the profits from the bar raised £992.10 for the charity!!

WE ALSO HAVE TO MENTION STEVEN BONE (FUDGE), OUR 3RD TEAM MEMBER WHO IS OUR DRIVER/COOK & RUB DOWN MAN!! LOL...HE HAS HELPED SO MUCH AND WE ARE SO GLAD HE IS WITH US.

The support we have had so far has been truly outstanding,we've held a charity night, we have another store collection courtesy of the lovely Donna and Sainsburys in Leven, a golf day with the with the proceeds from the raffle etc being donated to our cause, this is through Sandys work and a fundraiser in Kennoway Bowling Club on Sunday 4th August, so hopefully our funds will keep rising and rising.

We have also now added a BUNGEE JUMP to the challenge, sadly Sandy can't part due to a health condition, so Thomas along with Steven have enlisted the help of 11 others to take part in this event which we hope will raise another substantial amount for the charity.

We were also invited to take part in the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate which incleded the opportunity to lay a wreath on behalf of PoppyScotland & ourselves which was a fantastic and again emotional experience.

SO THE FUNDRAISING CONTINUES AND HOPEFULLY,GOD WILLING, THROUGH YOUR KINDNESS OUR TOTAL WILL RISE AND RISE.
