Skin head challenge · 19 July 2014

The NKF is a National charity that provides support and information to patients, families and healthcare professionals affected by kidney disease. Our aim is to improve the quality of life and support kidney patients and their families as well as lobby for renal improvements.

Story

My mum has a very good friend who is  poorly in hospital with serious kidney related problems.  When he was a little boy he had to have one of his Kidneys removed, he managed to live a normal life until he reached his late teens, when his other kidney started to fail.  Following this he had to start dialysis, which he learned to manage himself at home.  Lately his dialysis stopped working so well and he had to be admitted to hospital for a major operation on his tummy, where he still is trying to recover.  Through different events organised by himself, even when his health has not been at it's best,  he has raised money for his chosen charities.  It is his courage and strength which inspire me to do the same.  If someone like him can make a difference by raising money then why can't everyone else.  This is why I have set myself this challenge I hope I can make a difference like he has done. I will be doing my challenge on Saturday 19th of July 2014.
