Daniel's The Chemo Cycle

The Chemo Cycle · 30 July 2015
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Dan Hadley and I am fundraising for The Cove Unit in Truro, Cornwall.
I am a husband and father to 3 children under 6, and I was diagnosed with testicular cancer in August 2014. Through the amazing work of the oncology department and nurses on Lowen Ward and the Headland Centre in Treliske Hospital, Truro, nine weeks of chemotherapy cured me.
I used to be reasonably fit and loved running, cycling and gig-rowing. I also want to give something back to the over-stretched treatment system. So, combined with my urge to regain some fitness, I am organising a bike ride from the chemo ward in Bristol to Lowen ward in Truro.
Macmillan Cancer Support are fundraising for The Cove Unit in Truro which will support sufferers, families and survivors. This is sorely needed in Cornwall and would have helped my family and me during some very uncertain and dark times.
Myself and a group of cycling friends will begin the ride on Thursday 30th and ride between all the chemo wards en route to Truro. Over four days, we will stop at the chemo wards in Taunton, Barnstaple, Exeter and Plymouth before rolling in to Truro on Sunday 2nd August. The route is approximately 280 miles and will be given coverage in local papers, local radio, Twitter and Facebook.
Please support our efforts as best you can. Any amount you can give will go towards the building and resourcing of a vitally needed service in Cornwall.
Thank you,
Dan
