Supports serving and ex serving members and their families of The Royal Dragoon Guards and their antecedent regiments the 4/7th Royal Dragoon Guards and the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards, in times of hardship

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Royal Dragoon Guards (RDG) is a Cavalry Regiment of the British Army. It was formed in 1992 by the amalgamation of two other regiments: The 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards and the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards. The regiment currently serves as Armoured Cavalry, equipped with the Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked) CVR(T) Scimitar and is based in Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire. Today the RDG is an operationally experienced regiment having recently served in Iraq (Operation TELIC 5 and 11), and Afghanistan (Operation HERRICK 12 and 17).

The regiment during recent campaigns has suffered injuries and loss of life and I would like to assist our continued support to families through the Regimental Association.

The regiment recruits soldiers from the North of England and Ireland, but predominantly from Yorkshire.
