Story

Santa Pod Racers Club Secretary Paula Marshall passed away on Sunday 6th January 2013 after a long illness.  Paula was a tough character who famously took no nonsense and she took the same approach when she fell ill, putting up a fight as long as she could.

I had the privilege to race Paula many years ago when she drove the Highlander camaro and I was driving our much slower Nutcracker slingshot.  It was a pretty one sided race and I always hoped to have the chance to make things 'even' one day.

Until that day comes I have pledged to run for Paula and raise as much money as possible in Paula's memory.  In 2013 I completed the Great North Run and raised over £4'000.

Now it's 2014 and here we go again!  This time it's a trio of half marathons including a repeat performance of the biggest half marathon in the world - The Great North Run.

The dedication, commitment and determination I need to do this doesn't compare to that shown and given by Paula in the recent years but I'll hopefully do her memory justice and would appreciate your support to raise as much money as possible.
