Story
I did it and I simply can't believe it!
The beginning was awesome and I felt strong, but I struggled on the nightwalk. Nonetheless, I still plodded along, and after a 23 minute power nap, I woke up at 5.10am on Sunday morning to push on through again and finish in the 28th hour within the 30 hour time limit.
A massive thanks to everyone for all of your support and donations, and especially to Lou, my girlfriend, acting trainer and challenge coordinator, who took me to the start line, met me at the 2nd checkpoint in Guildford and walked the last couple of miles with me, including a killer hill walk, before the finish line.
This is a reminder why I did the walk:
Over the years, some people close to me have died from either heart problems or heart attacks.
I am doing this challenge in memory of the following special people:
Claudia Rivas tragically died from a sudden heart attack on the 27th September 2013. This challenge is for her and her family. Rest in Peace, Claudia.
George Antoniou died several years ago from a heart condition. George... This is for you and your beautiful family.
My uncle George was super fit, a retired referee, but suddenly died from a heart attack while drinking a cup of coffee in his kitchen. I will never forget you, theo!
