Story
Over Easter Weekend a team of fourteen students from Dauntsey’s School will be attempting to paddle the 125 miles between Devizes to Westminster in 3.5 days - the equivalent of a marathon a day. It has been described as ‘The Canoeist’s Everest’.
So why are we doing this? This is a question we find ourselves frequently asking as we bandage up our blistered hands after yet another training session on the cold and windy Kennet and Avon Canal.
For all of us it’s about the adventure and challenge but more importantly about raising money for our School charity, CALM.
CALM aims to improve the quality of life for both the children going through treatment, and the parents and families during and after treatment. They also provide support to families to cope with physical, emotional and often financial strain placed upon them.
Any sponsorship or donation would be greatly appreciated and would spur us on towards Westminster!
