We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

Dave Hale, Matt Hearl & Tom Southern, riding the length of the country to raise funds

for Cancer Research & Derriford Children’s Hospital.

Fearne Stockley  is the daughter of Naomi Hale & Matt Stockley, she has an extremely rare condition whereby her metabolism doesn’t work, put simply the more she eats the more weight she loses.

With rare conditions there are usually another handful of children with the same complaint, sadly in Fearne’s case there is no similar case anywhere in the world, and research is therefore limited at best. She survives with extraordinary medical care and is fed intravenously, together with a complex oral diet and lives at home with brother Louise (5) and sister Matilda (3) in Saltash, Cornwall.

In the 2 years since her birth she has spent over 600 days at leading children’s  hospitals in the UK, including Bristol, Derriford, Great Ormond Street and Southampton where Britain’s finest doctors relentlessly strive to find a cure, to date there has not been a diagnosis.

The bike ride is about helping Fearne & all children with life limiting illnesses in Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.

Please sponsor us & help make Derriford Children’s Ward, even better.
