Story
Hello dear family, friends, colleagues, and maybe perfect strangers. I've recently been talked in to joining Oliver Warner in his mission to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro in June 2016
For any of you that don’t know, Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa at 5,895 metres. It's not quite Everest, but it's not going to be a walk in the park either. The trek to the summit and back will take around eleven days, hiking around 10km per day.
I've been set the ambitious goal of raising £3,600. Rest assured this isn't just a ploy to fund a jet-set lifestyle, it's actually being raised on behalf of a good cause: Vision Aid Overseas.
Vision Aid Overseas was selected by Oliver and his friends and colleagues at Boots Opticians, and is a fantastic charity aiming to provide access to eye care in developing countries. I've worn glasses and/or contact lenses for the last 15 or so years, and I can't imagine not having access to something so valuable in my day-to-day life. It's only right that others get the chance to benefit from this too.
I'm humbly asking you to reach in to your pockets and help me reach my goal to make this trip possible.
I know this is a big ask, and a lot of money needs to be raised. However I'm not going to simply sit back and rely on the kindness of others. For every £1 donated by an individual, I will aim to add 50p of my own money where I can (up to a maximum of 25% of the total goal) to reach my goal.
Help me reach my target to partake in this amazing, once in a lifetime challenge, and help Vision Aid Overseas change the lives of thousands of people around the world.
