David's West Highland Way Walk

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My late sister Anne Dean was a very compassionate person who would get particularly upset when children were suffering for any reason. When she died, she requested that people donate to her favourite charity, The Smile Train, instead of bringing flowers, as she wanted to raise awareness of the charity's work. The charity is one of the most efficient in the sector and please do read more about their work by following the link on this page.
I am dedicating this hike to my sister and hope that it will raise enough money to fund a few operations and bring relief from a condition that blights children's lives and severely adversely affects their future. My target will help four children to have a smile but it would be wonderful to make this a much bigger number.
The West Highland Way runs for 151km (about 94 miles) from Milngavie (on the edge of Glasgow) to Fort William (at the foot of Ben Nevis). I am walking with a friend over 5 days from 27th to 31st May and will spend 3 of the 4 nights in a tent. The sun may or may not shine, the wind may or may not blow but one way or another we will get to the end in time for the train back to London!
