Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
Dr David Irwin of the Buckden and Little Paxton surgeries and Dr Charlotte Archer of the Wellside Surgery Sawtry will be climbing the highest mountain in Africa for Leukaemia Research. Recently their good friend Liz Burton of Landins, Kimbolton sadly died after a six year battle with Leukaemia. This made us more determined to raise money for this worthwhile cause. Kilimanjaro is an extinct Volcano 5,895m high and a challenge for any experienced walker or climber. David and Charlotte will be spending two weeks in Tanzania also climbing Mount Meru to prepare themselves for this great ordeal. They are funding the trip entirely themselves and any monies will be going directly to the Liz's "forget-me-not" fund at Leukeamia Research.
Charlotte's father climbed previously unknow routes on the mountain in the late 1950s and when he died eighteen months ago Charlotte and her sister, who will also be going, set themselves the challenge of getting to the top although no doubt on an easier route!
