Wimbledon 10k run · 11 February 2009

Medict is a charity dedicated to transforming the lives of very poor disabled Mexican children who would otherwise only know pain and misery. Medict supports a large charitable institute in Mexico called Nuevo Amanecer where hundreds of children are treated and educated, helping to provide vital equipment and staff training.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

We're running the Wimbledon 10k run on Sunday 22nd March to support our great friend Katarina Fraser who is raising sponsor money to volunteer in Mexico with a charity called Medict.  Medict is a small UK based charity which supports the work of the Institute Nuevo Amanecer (New Dawn) in the city of Monterrey in Mexico. Nuevo Amanecer is the only Institute in Mexico that supports and treats hundreds of disadvantaged children with cerebral palsy.

Katarina is going with a small team of people to transfer our speech and language therapy skills that she is currently studying for to those at the Institute. Many of the children have severe communication difficulties and are sometimes not able to convey even their most basic needs to those around them.

This is a great charity and we hope you will support us in our efforts.  Our target is £600 but we would obviously love to exceed this.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: MeDiCT Mexican disabled Children's Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!  Thanks
