Story
Shazam is an all-inclusive drama and music service in Aberdeen City that provides opportunities for our members to build confidence, skills, friendships and resilience. We operate on an open-door policy whereby anyone can join, there are no barriers to accessing our service. Each year, our team works closely with our members to devise a programme of activities that is underpinned by member feedback and consultation. Shazam works closely with families and other services to provide opportunities for their members to perform locally, nationally, and previously internationally, facilitating experiences that have proven to enhance the skills and confidence of our members.
Our members, from diverse socio-economic demographic backgrounds, relish these opportunities and often feedback that they feel ‘included’ and that ‘Shazam is like a family’. We work hard to enrich and nurture all of our members skills and confidence, providing opportunities for all to harness responsibility, problem-solving and build resilience.
As part of our core programme, Shazam currently offers two musical theatre groups, two drama groups, community classes and holiday clubs to regeneration areas.
