Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
Over the past four years your wonderful generosity has raised over eight thousand pounds for Manchester Action for Children (MAC), our charity that supports vulnerable and disadvantaged children in Northern Zambia, giving them a chance of life beyond poverty and hand-outs, through education and training, and helping to create sustainable communities.
The money you helped me raise has been used to support Trust Community School in Kitwe and we have big plans for future support. Visit our website for more detail: www.manchesteractionforchildren.org.
This year my goal is to raise £3000 to fund a daily meal for the 350 children at
Trust School for a year. For many, this is their only substantial meal in the
day - a porridge of mealie maize mixed with groundnuts and soya beans - and
some have to walk many miles to get to school, arriving hungry and in a poor
state to learn effectively.
To this end I have signed up for a third self-funded challenge, this time along the Peruvian Inca Trail from Cusco to Machu Picchu. For six days I will trek out of the Sacred Valley, over high mountain passes, skirting by local markets and small villages along little-used routes rising to 4600m, and finally climbing 3000 steps to the Sun Gate with amazing views of the sacred site of Machu Picchu.
