In memory of Debbie

Michaela Loos-Page is raising money for Blood Cancer UK

Team: Remembering Debbie Burton

In memory of Debbie Burton
We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

My sister-in-law Debbie had been living with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. The diagnosis was a shock, but being very fit & healthy she coped well with the first round of chemo…never complaining, always positive, she just got on with it. All appeared to be going well until the end of 2013, when she was told that it had returned, but as before she just got on with the next round of treatment. They threw everything they had at her, but nothing seemed to work. The words 'brave' and 'courageous' are barely adequate to describe how she dealt with her illness.

She leaves a massive gap in our lives that can never be filled. A wonderful, generous, warm and caring person. I hope that in some small way we can help more people to survive for longer or beat this awful disease.
