Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

Every 2 hours, someone in the UK sustains a spinal cord injury. Their world – and that of their family – is turned upside-down. SIA aim to reach everyone affected by spinal cord injury, to connect them to all the help and support they need to life a fulfilled life.

Story

Hi, Thank you for visiting.

A few months ago I was out at dinner with a friend and we were talking about challenges.  She said to me that if I wanted a challenge why don't I run the London Marathon for her.  She wanted to run it but did not get round to entering and after her accident which left her totally paralysed from the chest down, will sadly never be able to.  So the only answer I could give her was "YES"!

So here I am in full training preparing myself for April 26th.  My friend told me that without the SIA she does not know how she would have coped with her darkest times after the accident and they are still giving her support to this day 12 years on.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Spinal Injuries Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So any donation you can give will be so very much appreciated. It will also help me get through those 26 miles, knowing that I have to finish not just for the SIA or my friend, but for all of you who have so very kindly and generously sponsored me.

Thanking you so very much xx Debbie
