Story
Thanks for taking the time to stop by.
I volunteer every week at Shelter from the Storm. We have around 40 guests who, for any number of reasons, have found themselves without a roof over their head and come to seek Shelter from the Storm with us. We cook dinner, and also try to provide a friendly face (and a game of pool) to our guests.
I see the positive impact of the work we do every week. With the safety of a roof over their head, guests are able to concentrate on the other aspects of their life, such as sorting out employment, getting the medical treatment they need, or getting help with their immigration issues.
The work we do is funded privately through donations. We can only continue to provide the service by fund-raising. Fund-raising can seem a tiresome thing, but unfortunately as long as people are homeless, we will need to do it. Please help to prolong the work we do, especially as the Government continues to reduce access to welfare assistance across the country and we see numbers of homelessness increase.
Thank you so much for reading this far. If you want to help, please donate.
