Hi I am Demi Collins and if you know me you know I feel very strongly about BSL and its importance in our country and deaf awareness and society as a whole. Because of this, I am raising money for the British Deaf Association who want to legalise BSL and ISL, put an end to second-class citizenship for deaf people, have deaf education redesigned out and put more care into it. And promote Sign Language and its culture and heritage.

If you know me you know I have struggled with knee issues for around 5ish years. You also may know I use to run the Race for Life every year until my knee issues got too out of hand. After years of on and off physio, two operations and a lot of crutches, this will be my first run since 2014 and the first time I've run since then for anything other than catching a bus. This charity has a chance to change the world and better lives of people no different to anyone else but have a hard time communicating cause not enough people know about BSL, ISL or even Deaf culture. If you don't believe in that reason but know enough about my history with my knee and BSL, please donate for belief in me doing a run despite all my issues. If you do not want to donate at all that is fine but please educate yourself on the matter as awareness is just as important. Information will be below any questions on the matter or charity please contact me.

Over 87,000 people in the UK use BSL as their preferred way of communicating. the least you can do is learn to say basics like you do before you go France or Spain. English is a lot of deaf peoples second language. Even learning more about it can change just one of their lives.
