It is thanks to people just like you that we are able to make things better for our patients, their families and the staff who treat them. Your donation will help us to provide important equipment, new facilities, pioneering research and all the important extras that make our care so special.

Story

On Saturday 19th June I will be embark on the well known Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge which covers 24 miles and takes in the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough within a 12 hour time limit.

I'll be doing the walk with several other friends from the Denstone area who we've met mainly through Archie (our son) attending local play groups.

I'm raising much needed funds for the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the University Hospital of North Staffs where Archie was treated last summer when he became seriously ill with a rare skin disease after having contracted Chicken Pox.

All funds raised will be channeled directly back to the unit where they make the decisions about what the money is spent on. Currently they are looking to purchase several specialist pieces of equipment which are key to saving children's lives and treating patients just like Archie.

We can't thank the staff enough for what they did for us. They were truly amazing both at what they were doing professionally with Archie's care and treatment and looking after Mum and Dad at a pretty desperate time.

We raised an astonishing £3000 at the Farm Shop Easter Fair in April which is already being put to good use however the department require around £1000 to complete the fund raising for the next piece of equipment. Please give generously and help me to make that happen as soon as possible.
