Story

Homelessness is a scourge in our society.

On the 25th November some of us will spend a night sleeping-out in cardboard boxes to raise awareness and money to provide a winter shelter to take rough sleepers off the streets in the coldest winter months.

Over the last few years the London and Slough Run has provided a winter shelter in Slough from early January through to the end of March, with the help of many volunteers and local amenities.

The shelter gives rough sleepers in Slough a warm dinner and breakfast together with providing a safe, warm, dry place to spend the night during the coldest of months.

It would be fantastic if you can spare a few of your hard earned cash to help out. I know how many requests you receive and the many worthy causes that exist. However the London Slough Run is extremely efficiently run, staffed entirely by volunteers and a little goes a really long way.

"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give" (Winston Churchill)

About the charity

We started in the mid 1980's and provide soup runs for the homeless and disadvantaged in London and Slough. In 2014 we started a winter night shelter in Slough. We began a food share program in 2020 collecting from supermarkets and distributing to a number of local Charities every day.
