Assists in the relief of persons suffering from leukaemia and other blood disorders by promoting research into such disorders and by assisting in the furnishing, equipping and maintaining a ward in Leeds for the use of people suffering from these disorders from wherever they may come. The additional aim is to give added value to the services already provided by the NHS.

Story

Des suffered from a rare form of bone marrow cancer (MDS) which rapidly developed into acute leukaemia which suddenly ended his life in October 2018.

To mark Des' life, and in memory of the unending and selfless work he did to treat, help and care for others during his career and personal life, we are raising money so that he can continue to  help others as we know he would want to.

The Friends of the Leeds Centre for Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma is a local charity based at St James's University Hospital where Des was diagnosed, cared for and passed away.  It assists in the relief of persons suffering from leukaemia and other blood disorders - including MDS - by promoting research into such disorders and by assisting in the furnishing, equipping and maintain a ward in Leeds for the use of people suffering from these disorders.

Any donation you can make will help care for people like Des / Dad and will fund research into these cruel diseases.

Thank you,

Jennifer, Michael & Rachel
