Story
I am undertaking a 2-day solo cycle challenge in West Africa for DofE's Diamond Anniversary . I will be cycling over 200km from Central Region of The Gambian provinces to the Atlantic Coast at Bakau. It's going to be hot and humid with temperatures up to 36 degrees, Not many hills.....so whilst I don't have much elevation, there's no downhill either which means I'm pedaling all the way.
I've got a support vehicle and an extra bike and other spares on standby in case of punctures, brake failures or the chain falling off.
Because of the heat I'll be starting 3am on each day to try and get as many miles under my belt before the blistering sun raises its head above the horizon. Once the sun is up, there's no shade so I'm going to be pretty exposed to the rays.
As London's Director for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and Bronze, Silver and Gold Award this definitely feels like my natural next challenge in life.
Please sponsor me and help young disadvantaged Londoners benefit from the impactful DofE experiences that I have been fortunate enough to enjoy.
