Bananaman Triathlon · 12 July 2009

2012 fundraising campaign. The aim is to raise much-needed funds for both our school and church. There are a number of really exciting events planned over the next few months including our Summer Fete on 16th June, the British 10k London Run on 8th July and a community play later in the autumn.

Story

Hello Family and Friends,

This is our fundraising page designed to get you to help us raise money to improve the sports facilities and provision at Christopher, Zoe and Anna's School, St Peter's in London.

If any of you have been to the school you'll have seen that the playground is tiny for the number of pupils it accommodates, and the sports facilities are extremely limited. We've assembled an enormous, enthusiastic team of 40 parents and carers to take part in the Bananaman Triathlon on 12 July, either as individual participants or as part of a relay team.

Britta will be running 7.5km around Dorney Lake in the final leg of her team's race, taking over from cyclist Nigel Gerald and swimmer Cecilia Bottomley. She's aiming to break 40 minutes.

Dickie will be swimming 800 metres in Dorney Lake before handing over (flapping a freezing hand) to his team-mates, Vuk Bulatovic on the Bike (30km!!) and Nelson Otomewo on the final (7.5km) in running shoes. Dickie's targeting 14 minutes for the swim (3.42km an hour). Together with the 40 other parents we are hoping to raise more than £20,000.

This will make make a big difference to the children at St Peter's, both now and for future generations. Our first investments will be in sports facilities within the school itself, and further funds will be spent on sports beyond the school gates, and transport to and from facilities.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The St Peter's Parents-Teachers Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now .... every amount counts!

Love from Britta and Dickie
