Dixon Wilson - Trailwalker 2014

Trailwalker · 26 July 2014 to 27 July 2014 ·
On the morning of Saturday 26th July two teams from Dixon Wilson will be setting off from the Queen Elizabeth Country Park on a 100km trek along the South Downs Way as we take part in the Oxfam Trailwalker 2014 event. The aim will be to reach the finish line (a distance equivalent to almost two and a half marathons), at Brighton Race Course, in less than 30 hours. This will require walking non-stop, day and night, until hopefully some time Sunday morning!
The Trailwalker was originally set up by the legendary Gurkhas in 1981 as a military training exercise for the elite Queen's Gurkha Signals Regiment. It is known to be a real test of teamwork, endurance and determination, acting as the ultimate physical and mental challenge. More details of the challenge can be found on the Trailwalker dedicated website:

We are hoping to raise over £3,000 through participating in this event. The funds raised will be split between Oxfam and The Gurkhas Welfare Trust to be used in their valuable work. Oxfam works in 94 countries, fighting poverty around the world by responding to emergencies, through development projects and campaigns to tackle the causes of poverty. The Gurkhas Welfare Trust provides financial, medical and community aid to alleviate hardship and distress among Gurkha ex-servicemen and their communities in Nepal. More details of each of the charities can be found on their websites:
