Derbyshire Three Peaks Challenge · 2 May 2015

Derby Kids' Camp is a 100% volunteer-run, local charity which provides free holidays for over 300 of Derbyshire's most deserving young children each year - giving them a much-needed break and what may well be the only holiday they will receive throughout the whole year.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our just giving page.

DKC is a charity that provides FREE holidays to 350 of the most deserving children in Derby and the surrounding areas. These children need a holiday for a whole host of reasons, they may be young carers, they may be living in poverty or they may have recently lost a loved one.

So, every year a team of wonderful volunteers work around the clock to raise over £30,00 to make sure that these holidays can happen. DKC does not have any paid staff which means that every penny raised goes directly to the kids' holidays!

So we decided to enlist the help of our fellow volunteers, to put on our walking boots and try to raise as much money as possible for DKC.

On the 2nd of May 2015 36 DKC volunteers and supporters took to the hills to walk the Derbyshire Three Peak Challenge with to raise lots of money.

We have already completed the challenge however would really like to get closer to our target so please consider donating.

The fantastic people who took part were:

Alex Grimes, Alice Harden. Amy Allen, Anna Castledine, Cat Howourth, Charlotte Belmore, Daniel Harden. George Cliffe, George Wade, Gregg Ball, Hannah Wade, Ian Fuller, Jade Sloane, James Weldon, Jamie Page, Kalisha Hamilton, Keith Fuller, Kerris Bewick, Kevin Lane, Laura Creed, Liam Downson, Lizzi Webb, Lorna Gardiner, Michelle Edwards, Mikki Champken, Paul McCan, Peter Wade, Sarah Palmer, Sam Hickey and Stephen Williams.

The event was organised by Rachel Harden and Victoria Fuller who along with the above and 4 extras from mountain rescue who supported the event walked 12 miles climbing Gridsbrook Clough, Kinder Low, Brown Knoll and Mam Tor in just over 7 hours to make sure that lots more deserving children could continue to benefit from the holidays that Derby Kids' Camp provides.

Thank you  for you generosity and support.
