Could your dog be a blood donor?

Before my dog became critically ill this spring, it had not crossed my mind that poorly dogs would need blood transfusions, let alone where the dog donors would come from. The Pet Blood Bank provided blood for two transfusions which, along with the wonderful care of the Animal Health Trust and Rutland Veterinary Centre, saved my dog's life.
