Story
Thanks for taking the time to get this far in helping me to help Diabetes UK.
On Sunday the 17th May 09 I will be riding my bicycle 81 miles over the Scottish Highlands in a road race called the Caledonian Etape, which is the cyclists equivalent of the London Marathon. To make the challenge slightly harder the race must be completed in under 6 hours, an average speed to 13.5mph before hills.
I have chosen Diabetes UK as my charity for this event. Some 2.5 million people suffer from Diabetes in the UK and some 500,000 people have diabetes but have not been diagnosed yet. We all know someone with this illness and Diabetes UK funds an extensive research programme (£7 million per year) to try and cure the illness and reduce suffering for those that have the disease.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Diabetes UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
