Beards for Bairns
Let me start by saying, I would be grateful for any donation (the price of a coffee for example) - a word of warning though... I'll be fundraising for the neonatal unit later this year and am looking for a bigger challenge than nae shaving for a month! :o)
Now, if you haven't seen me since 25th December you might not know that I've started to grow a beard. 'Beards for Bairns' is a fundraising event for the Archie Foundation which involves growing a beard from 25th December to 25th January (i.e. Christmas Day to Burns Day). When I saw this I had to give it a go - any excuse to annoy Tracy who doesn't like facial hair!
If you have had to any spend time at Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital you'll know what a special place it is. Since Cameron came home we've had a number of outpatient appointments there and he was also a day patient recently too. During those visits the staff have been great and the atmosphere is so welcoming - nothing like a hospital thankfully!!!
The Archie Foundation exists to help redevelop children's clinic spaces, provide cutting edge equipment and also support children and their families who arrive at the hospital with nothing but the clothes they are wearing.

PS.... Please remember to tick Gift Aid, won't cost you anything but the charity can claim the tax back.
