Story

This isn't 'my' page. Not in the slightest.

All the participants above are the true heroes and it is these guys who will be putting their minds and bodies to the test, in one of the world's greatest physical challenges. Tough Mudder 2014!! (Idiots)

What is Tough Mudder?

Tough Mudder is a 10-12 mile obstacle course designed to test all-around strength, stamina, teamwork, and mental grit. Tough Mudder is Probably the Toughest Event on the Planet. Probably.

Designed and created by British Special Forces to test mental as well as physical strength, obstacles often play on common human fears, such as fire, water, electricity and heights. The main principle of the Tough Mudder revolves around teamwork. Participants must commit to helping others complete the course, putting teammates before themselves, and overcoming fears.

Want to see why this is such a big deal??? Link to the site is listed below!! Be careful now, you don't want to get muddy too, or do you ;)

Why Tough Mudder?

Several months ago, the group was informed by one of their own, that a close family member, had been hit with some rather unwelcome news. News that no-one ever wants to hear or even think about and this is our way, as a group of friends, to show that we're here to support them (and the family) in any which way, we can.

This isn't a race or a place to be setting personal bests.  Tough Mudder values camaraderie throughout the course, designing obstacles that encourage group participation. This epitomizes our friendship group and if one of us needs someone, then they get all of us!

Double Mudder?

Yep. As if ONE race wasn't hard enough, some of the guys have decided that TWO(!?) would be more of a challenge. So for consecutive days in September (14th/15th) some of the guys are racing twice!! To put this into context - it's unheard of. Completely insane.

Those participating in two races can be found in the 'Other Participants' section above. They are marked with a (D). Did I mention how crazy this was?

Donations to who?

We have collectively agreed that the Christie Hospital will be the recipient of any donations made. It's a truly fantastic charity, that is not only helping one of our own but they help thousands of people, every single year.

Any type of donation is greatly appreciated and will be a huge help to the Christie and their work.

When?

The race(s) take part on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September.

So, for the next 3 months, these gentlemen will be bullying themselves into shape; from average 20-something 'lads', to world class athletes (hopefully). Most would rather go for a pint, than hit the gym but that stops now, as they aim to complete this grueling challenge, all in the name of charity.

Shall we make things interesting?

Just to add another slight incentive to the mix (as if giving to charity, whilst these guys run through fire, mud and electrified wiring, wasn't enough) i'll be adding some challenges for the guys, with a little help from you. I'll keep you posted ;)
