Story
So, it's been a tough wee time for me mentally and physically...obvs I bleat on about it a lot when I probably shouldnt and overshare too much....but anyway, this time next week I will once again be doing the Kiltwalk to raise money for our wee charity. Not going to lie I am absolutely dreading it. They get harder each time, and although the atmosphere is great, and plenty of amazing and inspirational people taking part, it seems more daunting now more than any time previously.
For folk that dont know much about Diamonds in the Community, we operate the following projects helping thousands of vulnerable people each year...Baby and Family Clothing Bank; Household items for people starting out; Free Family Play Sessions; Dementia Groups; Disability Sports; Befriending Groups; Community Art Class; Meditation and Yoga Groups; Football Boot Swap Shop; Free Jacket Scheme; Free nappies, sanitary products etc; Digital Recycling Project; and of course...KitAid...sending thousands of unwanted football strips and sports eqt to the poorest countries in the world.
The pressure being put on 3rd sector groups like ourselves, especially from Statutory organisations is increasing, while sadly funding is decreasing. We shouldnt need to rely on the generosity of the public, but sadly we do.
If you can spare anything...even £1...I would be much obliged.
Thanks for reading, and also for your continual support to me when I am struggling.
