In my Dad's final days he was cared for by the amazing Neuro ward staff at Preston Royal Hospital - they took fantastic care of him and also looked after my whole family as we were by his side during this difficult time. We were also able to take advantage of the accommodation the hospital provide for patients' relatives at Bowland House. This meant that we were able to rest and have a base close by to my Dad so that he was never alone.
Throughout his career as a doctor and his whole life my Dad always put others first and cared for all his patients, friends and family in the most wonderful way. Here is just a small snapshot of some of the lovely messages we have received:

"It wasn't like your usual visit to the GP, a few moments in his company was like being enveloped by your favourite armchair...a relaxing experience. He was a handsome, kind and caring individual, rare in this day and age."

In his memory it seems very apt that we enable the staff at Preston Royal to continue to offer the kind of care that my Dad was renowned for providing to all those in his life.
